Mayor Harrell issued an executive order to create a team to amend permitting processes in Seattle. The Permitting and Customer Trust (PACT) Team will consist of city staff across various departments and aims to cut red tape, reduce delays and provide clearer guidance.  

Some anticipated improvements to the permitting processes include more consistent reviews, inspections and enforcement, an AI pilot program to correct errors, tailored small business supports and better customer service. We hope the changes will foster growth and make it easier to operate small businesses in the city.
